Stewards are required for various events across East and West Sussex, although mainly in the Brighton area. These events include Match Day Park & Ride Services for all BHAFC home fixtures, Brighton Racecourse meets and Theatrical events at Roedean School.
Responsibilities will involve:-
- Directing cars into parking spaces
- Taking / checking tickets
- Assisting supporters / members of the public with their enquiries
- On Park and Ride sites, assisting visitors onto buses
- Directing Buses
- Sign Management
You will need:-
- Good customer care and communication skills
- To be fit & active
- Enthusiastic
- Conscientious
- Trustworthy
- Proactive and able to think for yourself
- Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team
- Committed and must have good time keeping
- To have the character and temperament to carry out all the required duties
- Good English skills (both written and verbal)
- Be willing to train towards an NVQ Level 2 qualification
- To comply with current Health & Safety requirements
- To be able to commit to EVENINGS and WEEKENDS
- Full Driving License & First Aid knowledge or qualifications would be an advantage
Event stewarding jobs are about looking out for the welfare of the event attendees - and sometimes you might be the first person on the scene in the unfortunate event that someone needs medical assistance. You might be required to perform basic first aid while you wait for the emergency services to arrive.
Other duties you could be called upon to perform are traffic marshalling in and around the event venue, crowd control and liaising with emergency services.
Suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided to all staff free of charge and is sufficient to cater for all weather conditions a steward might face in the course of their duty
